For many years Joe has been Director of Photography on major commercials, including studio, location and aerial cinematography as well as 35mm and 16mm film and High Definition video.
IMAX
Joe is one of only a handful of cinematographers qualified to use the IMAX camera, and he has shot giant screen productions now screening at IMAX theaters in Detroit and Kansas City.
Documentary
Documentary films today are produced in anything from miniDV to 35mm film, HD and everything in between, and Joe has shot it all. He's as comfortable with a hand held HDV camera as with a Varicam or HDCAM on a dolly or an IMAX camera on a crane; and he has years of shooting experience with 35mm and 16mm.
Corporate / Institutional
He has DP'd productions for corporate, industrial and institutional clients all over the world, from corporate board meetings in Arkansas to massive construction projects in Australia.
Food
You can't watch broadcast television for long without seeing examples of superb food photography. Joe's top notch lighting skills and artistic sense of composition make his food photography second to none. Whether it's burgers or sushi, it has to be photographed with skill to be appetizing on the screen.
Music Videos
Music video is a genre all its own with its own set of tricks and techniques. Joe has DP'd music video from hard rock and heavy metal to symphony orchestra.
